They are located east of the center of Starigrad in the village of Glavčice (Petar Zoranić Street). Originally, they were located on the southern side of the road leading from Punta to the hamlet of Marasovići at the entrance to the Velika Paklenica canyon. Unfortunately, they were moved in the 1970s, while in their original position they had been the second largest group in Starigrad. They were devastated by the increased building that took place in the town, aft er which they were moved from the main road to a secondary one and placed in a row along a cement wall. In 1978, there were 53, today there are less and most are missing the headstone or footstone.
They belonged to the Marasović (Marosovići) and Paklenčari (Ramić and Parić) families, although the latt er claim that they did not have their own mirilo stones, which has not been proven. They are oriented east-west, and that was probably their original orientation. The basic type of slab is arched-rounded, followed by square and amorphous, decorated with a motif of “petal” sun discs like on the mirilo stones of Opuvani Dolac, a motif of a spiral (volute) with a cross and swastika, and variants of crosses, from the most simple to very complicated decorative forms. Headstones with inscriptions have a simple cross and the year of death carved.
